All of this alining of faith and politics in a move for power has come at a cost. What does the future of the evangelical church look like? In this power grab, leaders have lost sight of their biblical mission and even more importantly, their congregations. Church attendance is declining during the Trump administration. A price must be paid, but will the evangelicals even care. They’re playing the short game, but the long game is leading them towards their own demise. Is it too soon to say that evangelicalism has officially gone down the toilet?
